Short answer: you don't need one of these apps, and the free route gets you the exact same money.
But that's the lazy answer on its own, so here's what all three actually charge, what their real ratings look like, and the one thing you give up by doing it yourself.
One thing up front. We run a free settlement list, so this isn't a neutral comparison. Every price and rating below came from each company's own site, terms and App Store listing, plus Trustpilot, all read on October 11, 2026. Go check any of it.
Open settlements, who qualifies, what each one pays, and a link straight to the official claim form. The no-proof ones need no receipts.

Why "Free Class Action App" Is the Wrong Thing to Search
Here's the thing a lot of people get backwards.
Filing a class action claim is already free. Always. The money comes out of a fund the company that got sued had to set aside, and the settlement administrator pays you directly. Nobody charges you to file.
So when an app charges you $39.99 or $84, it isn't selling you access to the money. It's selling you two things: finding out the settlement exists, and typing your name into the form.
The first one has real value. The second one takes about two minutes.
MoneyPilot: the straightest of the three
MoneyPilot takes 0% of your payout and says so plainly on its own site, which the other two can't both claim.
Its ratings also agree with each other, and that matters more than either number alone. 4.4 from 1.6K on the App Store, 4.5 from 1,337 on Trustpilot. When a company's independent scores line up across two platforms, you're probably looking at the real thing.
It's the priciest month to month at $19.99, though the six-month plan at $59.99 works out far cheaper. Its App Store seller is Bloom Processing LLC, and its own site says the operator is MG Labs Limited, incorporated in Hong Kong.

SettleMate: cheapest, with a fee in the small print
$39.99 a year is the best headline price here. Read the terms before you take it.
Section 9.5 reserves "a success-based fee on certain recovery Services," and the terms separately say you agree not to circumvent fees owed to SettleMate. No percentage appears anywhere. Meanwhile its pricing page is headlined "No Hidden Fees."
Its guarantee is worth reading too. It pays out in 12 extra months of membership and states it has no cash value, so you don't get your $39.99 back.
And its ratings disagree violently: 4.8 across roughly 75,400 App Store ratings, but 71% of 250 recent written reviews are one star, and Trustpilot sits at 2.0 from 10 reviews on a profile the company hasn't claimed.
Full breakdown: is SettleMate legit.
Sparrow: most expensive, worst reviewed
Sparrow takes no cut either, so that's fine. The price frame is what people complain about.
Its homepage sells $7 a month. That bills as $84 at once, and reviewers describe the surprise in detail, including one who picked up a $30 overdraft fee from it.
Trustpilot has it at 1.6 from 52 reviews, with 92% at one star. There's no Android app at all.
Full breakdown: is Sparrow legit.
What You Actually Give Up Doing It Free
One thing, and it's worth being straight about it.
Monitoring. An app watches for new settlements so you don't have to remember to look, and remembering to look is genuinely where most people fail. If you'll never check a list on your own, a filed claim beats an unfiled one, and a subscription that makes you file is worth something.
What you don't give up is money. Your payout is identical either way, because the administrator pays claimants directly and none of these apps sit between you and the check.
You also don't give up speed. Settlements pay three to twelve months after the deadline, sometimes longer, and no subscription changes that.
The Free Way, Start to Finish
- Open the no-proof settlements and skim for companies you've actually used.
- Start with those, since no receipts are needed. You just attest that you qualify.
- Click through to the official settlement site and fill in the form. Most take a few minutes.
- Save your confirmation number.
- Check back once a month, or take the quiz again when you do.
Never filed one? Here's how to file a class action claim, step by step. Want the full directory rather than just no-proof cases, that's open class action settlements.
Bottom line: pay for one of these only if you know you'll never check a list yourself. Otherwise you're paying a subscription to type your own name.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a free class action lawsuit app?
Not really, and you do not need one. Filing a class action claim is always free, because the money comes from the company that got sued. The apps are not charging you for access to the money, they charge a subscription for finding the settlements and pre-filling forms. A free settlement list plus the official claim form does the same job at no cost.
What is the best class action settlement app?
If you want one, MoneyPilot is the straightest of the three: it takes 0% of your payout and says so, and its App Store rating of 4.4 from 1.6K ratings matches its 4.5 Trustpilot score from 1,337 reviews, read October 11, 2026. SettleMate is cheaper at $39.99 a year but reserves a success fee in its terms that its pricing page does not mention. Sparrow is the most expensive per year at $84 and carries a 1.6 Trustpilot score from 52 reviews.
How much do class action apps cost?
Read October 11, 2026: MoneyPilot lists $19.99 a month, $44.99 a quarter or $59.99 for six months, with a cheaper Premium tier at $9.99 a month. SettleMate lists $15.99 a month or $39.99 a year. Sparrow charges $84 a year, which its homepage frames as $7 a month, or $8 month to month.
Do class action apps take a cut of my settlement?
MoneyPilot and Sparrow do not, and both say so in writing. SettleMate is the exception worth knowing about: section 9.5 of its terms reserves a success-based fee on certain recovery services, with no percentage published anywhere, while its pricing page is headlined No Hidden Fees.
Can I find class action settlements myself for free?
Yes, and it is the same information. Settlements are public court records with official administrators, so free lists carry the identical cases. FileYourClaim lists what is open, who qualifies and what each one pays, with a link to the official claim form. The no-proof settlements need no receipts at all, just your name and address.
What do you give up by not paying for an app?
One real thing: monitoring. An app watches for new settlements so you do not have to remember to check, and that is genuinely the hard part. What you do not give up is money, because the payout is identical either way and the administrator pays you directly whoever filed the claim.
How long does a class action payout take?
Usually three to twelve months after the claim deadline closes, and sometimes more than a year. That wait is set by the settlement administrator and the court, not by any app, so paying a subscription does not speed it up.
Sources, all read October 11, 2026: each company's own homepage, pricing page and terms of service, their App Store listings and Apple's public customer review feeds, and their Trustpilot profiles. SettleMate's Google Play prices and review count are deliberately not quoted here, because they could not be reproduced from the listing and third-party trackers disagree.
